Blake Lively’s Archival Versace Moment At The Met Gala
Blake Lively made a surprise appearance on the red carpet for the 2026 Met Gala without her husband, Ryan Reynolds, arriving to reclaim her Met Gala queen status.

The actress wore an Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 2006 gown rooted in historical corsetry and 19th-century ballgown architecture, with early 2000s Versace glamour coming through in the colour and embellishments. It highlights the construction of dress as art, even if it doesn’t push into more conceptual territory.

Of course, she went big. The layered, ombré tulle skirt – moving through soft peach, lilac, and cream – creates a painterly effect, references art through colour and technique, like washes of pigment.

The look was styled with a familiar supporting cast: Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a custom Judith Leiber bag incorporating colourful artworks made by her four children.
Would you add this to her list of iconic Versace looks at this event, or does it read too Barbie-coded for you?
