Lupita Nyong’o Wore Christian Cowan To ‘The Odyssey’ London Premiere
Let’s be honest, many of us were expecting Lupita Nyong’o to arrive in Chanel for The Odyssey world premiere at London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square this evening.
Instead, she surprised us with a Christian Cowan Fall 2026 look, and I’m so glad she did.
The silver mesh column dress should feel incredibly revealing, but instead it plays with perception. The oversized side openings reveal the contours of her body, yet the fine crystal mesh provides just enough coverage for the look to feel intriguing rather than exposed. It’s an optical illusion that Christian Cowan executed brilliantly.
What really sold the look, however, was Lupita herself. Her confidence, poise and grace turned an already striking design into one of the evening’s standout moments.
Her beauty look deserves equal praise. Following the photocall, her glam team delivered another winner. The sculptural high-top hairstyle, paired with a smoky eye and deep berry lip, gave the look a distinct ’80s glamour, with more than a hint of Grace Jones in both the attitude and execution.
Styled with Aquazzura So Nude sandals, Garatti jewellery and matching metallic nails, every finishing touch felt considered. For me, this was one of the night’s most unexpected highlights.
